As CEO of Nexus Energy Partners, Ben Lusher is responsible for ensuring the successful strategic direction and operations of the company and its non-operated working interest and mineral holdings.

Before being named CEO, Mr. Lusher served as Chief Strategic Officer for Nexus BSP, helping to guide and implement the business development strategy for Nexus BSP. In this role, Mr. Lusher completed over 50 separate deals, growing the company’s holdings from 1,500 net acres in 2015 to over 8,000 net acres by the end of 2020.Prior to joining Nexus BSP in September 2014, Mr. Lusher worked as a Managing Partner of Bay Energy Partners LLC. During that time, he was responsible for setting the strategic direction of the company, overseeing the day-to-day operations of 55 oil and gas properties, implementing a new accounting system, and negotiating new bookkeeping and field operation agreements.

Before joining Bay Energy Partners, Ben spent four years with the Office of Governor Bill Ritter, Jr., most recently as the Senior Policy Advisor for Economic Development. Ben played an integral role in setting economic policy and strategy, specifically leading the day-to-day policy creation and stakeholder outreach process. Ben’s work contributed to the passage of over twenty individual pieces of legislation, which resulted in the creation of over 6,000 new jobs and $400M in direct capital investment.

Ben graduated Phi Kappa Phi from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, earning an MBA with Distinction. Ben also holds a Master of Public Policy from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in American Culture from the University of Michigan.
