
As Vice President of Land and A&D at Nexus Energy Partners, Joe Millspaugh leads the company’s land strategy across exploration, production, and acquisition and divestiture (A&D) initiatives. He is responsible for aligning land operations with Nexus’s broader business goals, ensuring strategic land positioning, and driving value through efficient deal execution and asset management.
Joe joined Nexus in April 2025 following a three-year tenure as Director of Land at Clēnera, a large-scale solar utility based in Boise, Idaho. At Clēnera, he played a pivotal role in the company’s rapid land acquisition growth and led the modernization of its Land Department. Prior to that, Joe served in various roles at Armor Energy, LLC I and II, from 2017 to 2022, culminating in his position as Vice President of Land & Business Development. During his time there, he was instrumental in acquiring, developing, and successfully divesting a 22,000-acre Eagle Ford asset. Joe began his career with Samson Resources and Samson Energy, where he spent 13 years in various roles across key regions, including the Mid-Continent, East Texas, and Gulf Coast, and was promoted to Land Manager in 2014.
Joe earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Oklahoma in 2001. He is an active member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) and the Tulsa Association of Petroleum Landmen (TAPL). Outside of work, Joe and his wife are committed supporters of several non-profit organizations throughout the Tulsa community.
