Moreland Sherrod joined Nexus Energy Partners in May 2024 as Senior Director of Business Development. In his current position, Moreland is responsible for business development and due diligence efforts in oil and gas as well as working with the Ventures groups to facilitate opportunities in the infrastructure space.

Moreland brings almost two decades of multi-disciplinary experience to Nexus. Before joining the team, Moreland was Director of Acquisitions for Triple Crown Energy, where he focused exclusively on oil and gas acquisition opportunities in the Mid-Continent. During that time, he helped participate in the successful acquisition and divestiture of over $500mm in mineral interest across SCOOP-STACK. He oversaw the day-to-day operations of the acquisition team.

Before joining Triple Crown Energy, Moreland worked for MesaPower, LP which was the utility arm of BP Capital, and served as an independent project consultant for various U.S. and foreign companies. During this time, Moreland worked on 2,000 MW of installed nameplate capacity.

Moreland graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma in 2003. Upon graduation, Moreland attended The University of Tulsa College of Law where he graduated in 2006. Moreland is a member of TAPL and has participated in University of Tulsa Mentor programs.
