
As Vice President of Oil & Gas at Nexus Energy Partners, Skeet Peters is responsible for evaluating all oil & gas investments and divestments and supporting Nexus’ business development by growing our industry connections and exploring new acquisition/partnership opportunities. Additionally, he oversees the management of Nexus' reserves database, providing short-term and long-term outlooks and working alongside our third-party engineers to prepare annual reserve reports. Mr. Peters joined Nexus in May 2021 and previously held the roles of Director and Vice President of Engineering.
Skeet has 13 years of experience as an exploration & development reservoir engineer, working with all contributing disciplines to the execution of oil & gas resource development and developing all the necessary skills to forecast the economic viability of drilling locations to deliver an objective, clear-eyed estimate of return on capital. Skeet spent the first 5 years of his career with Cimarex Energy working in their Anadarko and Permian Basin regions. Beginning in 2017, he transitioned to a senior reservoir engineer role with Casillas Petroleum Resource Partners, a Kayne-Anderson backed private equity company. Over the next 4 years, he helped develop/delineate their Oklahoma Scoop asset with 71 horizontals and grow the company’s position to ≈56,000 net acres, and was also the lead reservoir engineer in forming Casillas Petroleum Resource Partners II in August 2018 via the acquisition of ≈ 12,000 net acres in Oklahoma’s Shoveltum play, which proved to be the most economic and highly sought-after play in the state from 2019-present.
Mr. Peters graduated from the University of Tulsa in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, ADAM-Tulsa, and the Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma.
